You’ve heard right, this year will be the last year of the Eastside Street Rods Association’s annual Westport Rod Run. After nearly 30 years of this event, we have come to the hard decision that it’s time to bring it to a close. So come on down and be part of the end of an era!
Westport Motels
All rodders who are looking for a motel for the weekend can call the Silver Sands, instead of their management company, for a better rate than you might be able to get elsewhere. Rates have gone up all over town but Stevie wants to make us a special deal. Call them at (360) 268-9029. Thanks.
Westport 2022
We are happy to announce that the Westport Rod Run is right around the corner for 2022! Head over the Rod Run page to find out the details!
New owners at the Silver Sands Motel!
A little update as we prepare for the coming Westport Rod Run. Rhonda McBee has decided to sell the Silver Sands Motel. Back in the day, Rhonda and her husband, Jerry, operated the Silver Sands and was a big partner to Eastside Street Rod. For some years they hosted the Friday night cruise in next to the motel right outside of Jerry’s shop where he was a car builder. Through out the weekend we hosted our check-in out from the motel where it was easy to find right along South Montesano Street. After Jerry passed away, Rhonda kept the tradition alive and continued to run the Motel. Every year we have had the support of Rhonda to setup our checkin and the motel and greet everyone as they arrive for the weekend. We look forward to the new owners and the vision they have for the Silver Sands!
Westport 2021 is happening!
Hello everyone! As of now, we are in full preparation for running the annual Eastside Street Rod Westport Rod Run on July 16th and 17th! Check out the Westport page for all the info and the latest flyer!
We think Westport 2021 is ON
A little update here for everyone. We wanted to just announce that we are moving forward with planning on running Westport this year! It’s early to tell but we think we are going to plan on it happening. Which means reservations are being made, and shirt designs are getting worked on!
Happy Holidays
As 2020 comes to a close, Eastside Street Rod wants to wish everyone a great holiday season. Covid-19 has really thrown a monkey wrench into the performance of 2020. So if you have a chance to see family, be sure you do it safely. We are really hoping that 2021 starts to look better. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Westport 2020 is Cancelled
We regret to inform everyone that the 2020 Westport Rod Run is CANCELLED. We watched carefully everything going on Washington State, Grays Harbor County, and the city of Westport. There is still much concern around the COVID-19 pandemic. We want to make sure that we are aligning with Washington State’s best practices for safety. With the phased approach to reopening the state, we didn’t feel there would be enough time to coordinate the Rod Run and safely put it on.
We look forward to car shows later this year to reunite with our friends in the hot rodding community. We pray that everyone of you is safe and healthy and most importantly that you can join us next year for the 2021 Westport Rod Run!
Westport and COVID-19
Hey everyone! Our Westport RodRun this year is scheduled for July 17-18 2020. But as we all know, the ongoing COVID-19 situation is making everything very unpredictable. Eastside Street Rod Association has the safety of our RodRunners as our highest priority. We are currently operating along the guidelines of the state and the city of Westport. These guidelines affect different aspects of our Rod Run. Hotels, RV parks, restaraunts, etc. So at this point in time WE ARE ON SCHEDULE.
Please be sure to check here on the site and on our Facebook Page for updates as we get them. If the need to cancel the Rod Run this year occurs, we will make the announcements here and on Facebook.
Bruce Ojala
It’s with great sadness that we share the recent passing of a club member of long standing. Bruce Ojala passed away unexpectedly in early January and will be sincerely missed. Plans for a memorial to honor him and his involvement in ESRA will be updated here as we find out about them.
